Roy & Brenda Johnson started out taking their Yoga certification in DC, and in the meanwhile, got a taste of Thai Yoga Bodywork. From that point on, their love and fascination grew, wanting to learn more about Asian and Indian modalities and concepts. The couple immersed themselves in these ancient teachings, committed to learning and refining their skills to promote health and wellness among their community and globally.  Over the years, they have devoted themselves to the healing & holistic arts.  They have received valuable experience from their training at NMTI, Washington Institute of Natural Medicine, Thai Healing Institute, & Tranquil Space to name a few of their attended schools and courses.  They are certified teachers in the areas of: Yoga (Hatha, Viniyasa, Yin, Tibetan, Ashtanga & more), Pilates Mat, Tai Chi (Yang form), Qi Gong, Acupressure, Thai Yoga & Therapeutic Thai Yoga Bodywork, Thai Reflexology & Reflexology, Swedish Deep Tissue, Prenatal & Sports Massage.  Roy and Brenda are now offering their Massage, Reflexology and Acupressure services at the Skyline Wellness Center.  Call the office for more information, or to schedule your session.

Types of Massage

Swedish Massage (Relaxation): This is adaptable pressure to the client.  A total and complete relaxation massage.  Strokes are matched with the breath and heartbeat to put the client in a very relaxed state of mind.  Most experience a euphoric/dream state of mind, upwards to an hour.

Swedish Deep Tissue Massage: Combines oils, long strokes and trigger point work to release pain in muscles.  This can be combined with a relaxing pressure to the body.

Reflexology:  A westernized version combining European, Japanese, Indian and Chinese techniques.  Can be viewed as "Swedish Massage for Feet" incorporated with Acupressure techniques.

Thai Reflexology:  Rooted in Yoga, Traditional Thai medicine and Chinese medicine.  It is the "Deep Tissue" of foot reflexology.  More results and benefits are received, as deeper pressure is involved.

Thai Yoga Bodywork:  Combines manipulated yoga poses and acupressure techniques to release blockages or chronic pain in the body.  This is a full body stretch, done on the floor via a futon or table, and most people experience a feeling of being light and balanced.

Therapeutic Thai Yoga Bodywork:  Takes Thai Yoga Bodywork in a new direction while incorporating the same techniques.  Customized for ailments or chronic pains of a patient, and focuses on freeing that are of pain.

Private Instruction:  Yoga (most forms), Meditation, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Pilates techniques are used to build strength and flxibility as well as balancing the mind, body, spirit and emotions.  Techniques learned here can be applied to daily life.
