Meet Dominique Hoffman our Diet and Nutrition Coach
Dominique
grew up on a traditional Mediterranean plant-based diet. She has studied at the
Ecole de Boulangerie et de Patisserie in Paris, France. She
obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relation from George Mason
University.
Dominique’s
true passion has always been nutrition and cooking. She studied both in
France, her country of origin. In 2008, influenced by the works of Drs.
Neal Barnard and Dean Ornish, Dominique decided to turn to her true passion:
nutrition. She created a small company named Zizania that helps people
change their eating habits and reverse many diseases caused by dietary choices.
In
addition to her work coaching clients on nutrition and healthy eating,
Dominique gives seminars
about nutrition to organizations that wish to retain a healthier workforce.
Recent presentations took place at the Lupus Foundation, the National Education
Association, Neustar, and Comcast.
She
has taught cooking courses for the Fairfax County Adult
and Continuing Education Program.
She also serves as the in-house nutritionist for Fitness
Together in Chantilly and Dunn
Loring.
Dominique
has also created an innovative healthy menu for Vespucci
Restaurant to add to their traditional cuisine. The result is an exquisite
array of wholesome and delicious dishes everyone can enjoy regardless of lifestyle
choice, dietary restrictions (gluten, lactose, or eggs, for example), or
religion.
Successes
among Dominique’s clients include
- Lupus patients who have put the
disease into remission by changing their diet,
- Type II Diabetes patients who
have seen their disease reverse itself and no longer need medication, and
- weight management clients who
have learned to eat healthfully, and permanently maintain their desired
weight.
Dominique
makes custom based recipes for her clients based on taste, food preference, and
health condition. Her recipes are a fusion of traditional recipes, modern
nutritional advances, Parisian cuisine, and her experiences with designing
diets to meet doctors' instructions.
Dominique
Hoffman provides coaching in diet and nutrition for individuals
- who are overweight, or
- who suffer from Lupus, high
cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, or cancer, or
- who want to change their diet
to achieve optimal health, or
- who want to lower their
footprint on the environment.
Dominique
believes that in order for food to be healthy, it has to look good, taste good,
and feel good.
